This illustration is a playful tribute to Cleopatra, the iconic ruler of Egypt, often seen as the "Queen of Denial" for her refusal to accept the challenges facing her kingdom by the Nile River. It reflects both her strength and the complexities of her reign. The inspiration for this piece also comes from my blind cat, Cleo, who was named after Cleopatra in a moment of intuition. Cleo's name came to me like a lightning bolt, reminding me of the power of embracing what is unseen.
